BAD SPIRITS (BOOKS 1-5) (EBOOK)
D.V. BERKOM
AUTOR-EDITOR

Resumen del eBook

Kate Jones is on the run with a backpack full of money, intent on finding her way back to the United States from Mexico. Unfortunately, a ruthless drug lord named Salazar is just as intent on finding her, retrieving his stolen money, and making her pay for ever having left him. Is there anyone she can trust?Originally publi shed as five separate short stories chronicling Kate Jones race through Mexico, Bad Spirits Books 1-5 is a fast-paced, action-packed novella. Just when you think Kates escaped one impossible dilemma, shes thrown into another perilous situation. Can she survive long enough to make it out alive?"DV Berkoms Bad Spirits is a fast paced action packed novella which reads like a nonstop high octane movie. Each chapter moves at breakneck speed. The heroine, Kate, barely has time to take a breather before finding herself in another impossible situation and back on the run..."-Todd Fonseca, Author"...Bad Spirits takes place in Mexico with Kate trying to escape a well-known and menacing drug lord. The fact that she lightened his money stash is an even better reason to get out of the country. You wont be disappointed in the read, but you will be hungering for more."-Ginger Simpson, Examiner E-Books Reviewer"...Berkoms principal character, Kate, is a feisty, adventurous, albeit naivefollowing the heart more than the headfull speed ahead, high energy, fast thinking and acting character once she comes to her senses. She is out maneuvered at every turn, it seems, by a superior adversary, a relentless Mexican drug lord named Salazar, yet she holds true to her commitment to defeat him. Courage. That is what separates Berkoms characters from those created by others. A realistic kind of courage..."- Duane Schwartz, Author"...Action packed, fast paced and blood smeared, this series has everything an action lover would die for: Good looking girl - falls for bad guy - realizes her mistake - tries to run away only to find out exactly how bad he really is. Oh yeah... Did I mention she also stole his money? Like... A lot of it? And that he is a big Mexican drug dealer? Yeah. You get the picture..."- PaulaSHx (Hardman), Book Reviewer/Blogger ...

... WANDERER OF THE WASTELAND (EBOOK)

ZANE GREY

Resumen del eBook

Wanderer of the Wasteland by Zane Grey. Novel of two brothers, one an honest cowpoke, the other a gambler.Zane Grey (18721939) was an American author best known for his popular adventure novels and stories that were a basis for the Western genre in literature and the arts; he idealized the American frontier. When Adam Larey confronts his younger brother Guerd about his gambling addiction, the latter is accidentally shot. A distraught Adam, believing he has killed his own brother, flees into the desert. He later learns that Guerd was merely wounded and returns to the loving arms of beautiful Billie Dove.Adam Larey gazed with hard and wondering eyes down the silent current of the red river upon which he meant to drift away into the desert. The Rio Colorado was no river to trust. It chafed at its banks as if to engulf them; muddy and thick it swirled and glided along in flood, sweeping in curves back and forth from Arizona to California shore. Majestic and gleaming under the hot sky, it swung southward between wide green borders of willow and cottonwood toward a stark and naked upflung wilderness of mountain peaks, the red ramparts of the unknown and trackless desert. ... CIRCLE OF FLIGHT (EBOOK)
RICHARD STOCKHAM
AUTOR-EDITOR

Resumen del eBook

Thorus, the vengeful, had determined his way. Aria, the healer, had determined her way. Which determined this classic meeting of the twain.ExcerptIt seemed they had argued for years as they were arguing tonight. The man paced back and forth chain-smoking cigarettes; the woman sat motionless, watching him. They glanced at th eir watches with fearful eyes. They heard, with acutely alert ears, the goings and comings of people in the hall; heard the shattering blast of rockets in the sky above the city. And they argued."Were the last two leaders of the opposition alive."His voice came swiftly and low."The authoritys beaten us. Their setup for killing, imprisonment, bribery and blackmail functions too well. Our whole organizations been scattered like matchsticks. The police are closing in on us. Were finished here on earth. Well be lucky if were killed quickly."He waited a moment for his words to take effect."We go along together that far."She stood, clasping her hands."Of course. Of course.""Look. I know youve finished that damned contraption of yours thatll take you into the atoms. I know youve been working on it for years. But Ive been working too. My ships been ready to take off into super-space for two days. But I havent gone. Ive been waiting for you. To wait at a time like this is to ask for death or worse. Now I demand you give up this insane idea of going into the atoms. Youve got to come with me." ... Leer resumen completo

A QUESTION OF COURAGE (EBOOK)
JF BONE

Resumen del eBook

The Captain was known as Gutless Gus, they said he lacked courage. Then the real test came when they ran into the enemy?Feeling angry and tired, I finally managed to get away from Rule Book Charley and find my quarters which I shared with the Engineer. I knew him casually, a glum reservist named Allyn. I had wondered why he always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. Now I knew.He was lying in his shock-couch as I came in."Welcome, sucker,"he greeted me."Glad to have you aboard.""The feelings not mutual,"I snapped."Whats the matter? Has the Lieutenant Commander been rolling you out on the red carpet?""You could call it that,"I said."Ive just been told the duties of an Exec. Funny--no?"He shook his head."Not funny. I feel for you. He told me how to be an engineer six months ago."Allyns thin face looked glummer than usual."Did I ever tell you about our skip--captain?"Allyn went on."Or do I have to tell you? I see youre wearing an Academy ring.""You cant tell me much I havent already heard,"I said coldly. I dont like wardroom gossips as a matter of policy. A few disgruntled men on a ship can shoot morale to hell, and on a ship this size the Exec is the morale officer. But I was torn between two desires. I wanted Allyn to go on, but I didnt want to hear what Allyn had to say. I was like the proverbial hungry mule standing halfway between two haystacks of equal size and attractiveness. And like the mule I would stand there turning my head one way and the other until I starved to death. But Allyn solved my problem for me."You havent heard this,"he said bitterly."The whole crew applied for transfer when we came back to base after our last cruise. Of course, they didnt get it, but you get the idea. Us reservists and draftees get about the same consideration as the Admirals dog--No! dammit!--Less than the dog. They wouldnt let a mangy cur ship out with Gutless Gus."Gutless Gus! that was a new one. I wondered how Chase had managed to acquire that sobriquet. ... Leer resumen completo

EL MARICA (EBOOK)
Fecha Lanzamiento: 16/01/2013
CLUB UNIVERSITARIO
