Sinopsis

Sou Fujimoto is part of a new generation of young Japanese architects whose work has aroused great interest on the international scene. Sou Fujimoto's projects grow out of a unique blend of aspects of traditional Japanese culture and the ideas of contemporary architecture. The references to nature, which he incorporates in his designs as if it were one more building material, the fluidity of space expressed through a loose geometry which organises and defines things without making its presence felt, and the subtle gradation between interior and exterior are examples of that traditional influence. Fujimoto manipulates these features and transforms them into a fluid new architecture which seems effortless and entirely up-to-date.
