Sinopsis

This book is aimed at students of basic University courses of Genetics and Plant Breeding. However, it may also be useful for any person with an interest in crops breeding. The book has 12 Units that covers the main issues of the plant breeding. In the first part of the book basic concepts of Genetics are presented. Subsequently, there are several units devoted to the importance of diversity for plant breeding, to the identification of the different types of plant populations and to have an understanding of their genetic structure and to a presentation of the most used breeding methods. Finally the book deals with different biotechnological tools used in plant breeding.
