It is difficult to classify Meese´s production into any particular movement, though German Expressionism is perhaps his main source of inspiration: his works are dominated not only by the horrors of war and general discontent but also by recent art history in the environment created by Germany, by Viennese Actionism and by the Neo-Expressionism of Baselitz and Kiefer. This exhibition catalogue features a selection of paintings, collages, sculptures and ceramics seen for the first time. Introductory text by Fermando Francés and an essay by Fernando Castro Flórez.
