La noción de estructura algebraica fue introducida por N. BOURBAKI hacia 1947 en su idea de la estructuración de las matemáticas: tres estructuras madre (algebraicas, de orden y topológicas) y las restantes compuestas de esas. Una noción clara, un conjunto dotado de ciertas operaciones, que fue universalmente aceptada.
