John Coates es investigador en neurociencias y finanzas en la Universidad de Cambridge. Previamente trabajó en Wall Street para Goldman Sachs y también para el Deutsche Bank. En 2004 volvió a Cambridge para investigar la fisiología de la toma de riesgos financieros. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences y en el Financial Times, entre otros.
