Cristina Nehring es una ensayista, académica y periodista norteamericana que ha recibido varios premios por su obra. Estudió en la Universidad de Stanford y en La Sorbona, y tiene un doctorado por la UCLA. Sus trabajos han aparecido en medios como The New York Times, Atlantic, Harper's, Slate, The London Times, Condé Nast Traveler, The American Scholar, Los Angeles Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, New Republic y New York Magazine. Su obra más conocida y polémica es A favor del amor (Lumen, 2010; 2022). En 2010, su hija recién nacida, Eurydice, fue diagnosticada de leucemia mieloide aguda y síndrome de Down, experiencia que reflejó en Journey to the Edge of the Light: a Tale of Love, Leukemia and Transformation. También ha publicado dos libros en francés: L'Amour à l'américaine. Une nouvelle police des sentiments (2015), cuyas novedosas ideas sobre el amor provocaron una gran conmoción en Francia, y 23-et-demi: Les aventures d'une mère, de sa fille et d’un chromosome surnuméraire (2017), una serie de ensayos aforísticos inspirados en su hija. Actualmente reside en París.
