Sinopsis
Two years ago, Cambridge tutor Spencer Bancroft took one look at Faith Burlington and fell in love. But when she walked into his literature classroom a week later he knew hed never have a chance. Not only was he her teacher, but she wanted to attend the first womens college at Cambridge, where no suitors are allowed.
He still loves her , even though its hopeless. They exist in different social classes, and his academic position forbids marriage. While Spencer cant give her the life he desires for them, he can help her apply to scholarships for Girton College.
During their time together, Faith sees beyond Spencers fumbling words and discovers his love. Delighted, she shares her own feelings for him. But many academics will do anything to prevent working-class girls from attending university, and a zealous proctor arrests Faith to keep her from Cambridge. Can Spencer and Faith outwit the authorities to fight for Faiths future and their love?
A novella that takes readers into a world where marriage is forbidden—especially between an aristocrat and an orphan—and womens education is scandalous.
