North Central Pennsylvania--Solar flares trigger a coronal mass ejection (CME), the strength of which has not been seen in modern times, and it is on target to hit the earth. It will affect the earths magnetic field and cause mass electrical outages and electronic disruptions across the Northern Hemisphere for 72 hours, doing much damage to electrical grids. But the CME will trigger something more than that.
Two days into the solar magnetic storm, reporter Kip Stevens is returning home on a country road that he rarely travels and finds a man shot and unconscious lying off to the side. When the man regains consciousness in the hospital, he is disoriented by his surroundings and has no memory of who he is, where he is from, or why he was dressed in period clothes. Intrigued, Stevens teams up with hospital psychiatrist Ericka Porter to uncover "John Does" identity, and they are drawn into an enigma within an enigma that pushes their belief systems to the limit. In a race against time, they must resolve the paradox or their reality may be very different from the one that they know.
