The Second Course

Meet Lowan, a telepathic alien working as a private detective in the 1930s!

Lowan and Marx barely survived their last case, and the next one comes at them all too quickly. Their next target: Guido Genovesi, the second member of the insurance syndicate. The man they find defies their expectations—a cook, a husband, and a father, who wanted nothing more than to run a restaurant and secure his familys future. When events at his restaurant spiral out of control amid a web of revenge, insurance fraud, and mistaken identity, Genovesis desperate bid for a new beginning collides with the misdeeds of a past that wasnt his own. Hunted by both the police and a man he never wronged, Genovesi makes a deal he might not live to keep. Conspiracies unravel, danger escalates, and every choice could be fatal. What price must be paid for redemption?

S. E. Grosskopfs writing is strongly influenced by the old pulp fiction magazines and Golden Age radio dramas of the 1930s-1950s. If you like fast-paced action and mystery with a dash of urban fantasy and quirkiness, then youll love these books. This is the sixteenth book in the series. The books follow chronologically. Reading them in order is recommended.
