Excerpt from Journal, 1900In accordance with resolution of the Conference at Leeds last year two circulars were prepared, one addressed to the secretaries of the various Insurance Institutes and the other to the head offices and branch oficials of the insurance ofiices whose names appear in the Post Magazine Almanac, 1899, under the list Whos Who. The former circular asked that steps be taken to obtain from the membership an expres sion of opinion as to the amount of support that would be given by the rank and file of the profession in each district, and the latter made a direct appeal to those whose names could be obtained. Both circulars, which were despatched on l0th November, were accompanied by a copy of the proposed constitution.
