On a tranquil morning on the peaceful shores of Lake Jindabyne, a piercing scream rends the air and shatters the still sleepy tranquillity of the small country town. The lake had provided a peaceful and calm backdrop to the town of Jindabyne ever since the old town was flooded back in 1967.
But now, thanks to a severe drought, that peace and quiet has quickly become a thing of the past when three young boys wagging school make a shocking discovery on its banks. Part of an exposed human skeleton!
The discovery reveals a gruesome murder dating back thirty years. Its a secret the lake has jealously guarded – until now!
DS Bradfield and DC Evans are immediately called in to investigate. Their enquiries will soon unearth past grudges and conflicts that will lay bare years of bitter truths, turning neighbour against neighbour while triggering a series of murders in the tight-knit community.
