Philipp Meyer (Nueva York, 1974) es el autor de American Rust, una aclamada novela aplaudida por la crítica norteamericana. Esta ganó el premio Los Angeles Times Book Prize en 2009; fue el libro del año según The Economist; estuvo en el ranking del Washington Post de los diez mejores libros del año, y The New York Times lo incluyó en su lista de «100 Notables Books of the Year». Su autor se graduó en la Universidad de Cornell y obtuvo un master en la de Austin, Texas. Meyer es uno de los principales valores de la literatura norteamericana actual, y así lo demuestra su segunda novela, El hijo, un verdadero fenómeno y bestseller aclamado unánimemente por la crítica, que aborda los momentos más difíciles de la historia de Texas. El hijo fue uno de los tres finalistas del Pulitzer 2014 y hasta la fecha se ha traducido a más de diez idiomas. En la actualidad, Philipp Meyer vive a caballo entre Nueva York y Austin.
