Nació en 1958 en Wesseling, cerca de la ciudad alemana de Colonia. Estudió Historia, Literatura y Lingüística feminista. Políglota y viajera, vivió en Suiza durante algunos años. Posteriormente regresó a Alemania; allí fundó la editorial El!es-Verlag, donde publicó Taxi a París (Editorial Egales, 2003), la novela de argumento lésbico más vendida en Alemania, y el ciclo narrativo de Una isla para dos, también publicado por la Editorial Egales.
