Dan Wells (Utah, 1977) fue iniciado muy pronto en el mundo de la ciencia ficción: cuando tenía sólo cuatro meses le llevaron al cine a ver La guerra de las galaxias y, cuando tenía seis, su padre le leyó El Hobbit. A los nueves años comunicó a sus padres que iba a ser escritor. Pasó la infancia leyendo, yendo casi cada día a la biblioteca. Leyó ciencia ficción, novela histórica, divulgación histórica e investigación criminal. En el instituto descubrió a los clásicos de la literatura, primero en inglés (Dickens, Austen, Twain, Conrad) y más tarde siguió con los de la literatura universal (Hugo, Dostoievski). Por su pasión por la lectura, decidió estudiar Filología Inglesa. Ha trabajado en marketing y como publicista. Fundó una página web de reseñas de videojuegos, y su juego favorito es Battlestar Gallactica. Está casado y tiene cinco hijos. No soy un Serial Killer es su primera novela, el inicio de la Trilogía de John Cleaver, a la que siguen Mr. Monster y No quiero matarte, de próxima publicación en Booket. En 2011 ha sido nominado al premio John W. Campbell al mejor autor novel de ciencia ficción, que en su momento reconoció a autores de la talla de Orson Scott Card, John Scalzi o George R. R. Martin.
