Some heroes live by the sword. Some heroes die by the sword.
Some have no idea that they are heroes, for they are just fighting to stay alive...

Kane used to be a hero. He was one of the Del Carpio, an honor-bound wanderer committed to keeping the peace in troubled times, until his sword brothers were slaughtered in a moment of treachery and all that he held dear was taken from him. He now wanders the land in search of the traitor and hating himself for surviving when his brothers did not.

Jenn is the Beggar Kings puppet. Like Kane, she was once a fearsome warrior until the night she damned herself forever with one stupid mistake. Reduced to committing acts she never thought herself capable of at the orders of a man she despises, she prays for freedom and wonders at the price she will have to pay to get it.

Neither of them understands that they are far more important in the grand scheme of things than they could ever imagine. A dark power is rising in the east, driven by the madness of a man in search of ancient magic and given life through an army that he has pulled from the very depths of the grave. If left unchecked, this corruption will soon cover all of Sankarra, destroying it from the inside out. Kane and Jenn are all that stand between them. Can they remember what once made them great?
