Scott Sigler nació y se crió en Michigan. Heredó de su padre el amor por las películas clásicas de terror y de su madre, profesora de escuela, el interés por la lectura. Sigler escribió su primera historia de monstruos, Tentáculos, a los ocho años. Se graduó en periodismo y publicidad y fue recolector de fruta, reportero de deportes, responsable de marketing para una empresa de software y vendedor de guitarras, antes de crear su propia web y autopublicar sus libros en formato podcast (audio). Sigler reinventó el concepto de edición al convertir Earthcore en la primera novela publicada únicamente en podcast. Ofrecida en 20 episodios semanales, Earthcore, que ha conseguido 10.000 suscriptores, recupera la tradición de los seriales radiofónicos.
