The Biggering

"I write because I have to. I dont write because I want to."

From the singular and uncompromising imagination of Australian-Bosnian avant-garde filmmaker, author and multidisciplinary artist Saidin Salkic comes The Biggering: Brilliant Time in a Silent Street for the Fattening Chinaman — an off-the-charts work of contemporary avant-garde fiction.

At its centre is Sai Sal, a town maniac and penniless poet, moving through the existential loops of a society imprisoned by its own concrete structures, appetites and absurd conventions. Through a relentless, continuous prose rhythm, Salkic captures the heavy, wobbly acceleration of human consumption, loveless states and the strange machinery of modern existence — the systems that turn human hearts into blind, labouring herds.

Raw, hypnotic, fiercely satirical and deeply melancholic, The Biggering moves between profound isolation and explosive, transgressive comedy. Its world is one in which solemn court proceedings can be interrupted by canon-like disruptions, and houses literally begin fattening themselves across neighbourhood fences. Nothing remains quite where it belongs. Language, bodies, institutions and ordinary domestic life all participate in the same grotesque and comic expansion.

Operating outside the polite boundaries of commercial fiction, Salkics narrative refuses the sterilised expectations of conventional prose. It is an unfiltered exploration of consciousness, appetite, absurdity and the freedom of literary invention.

This is not a conventional short story. It is a literary manifesto: an eternal, unfiltered testament to linguistic freedom and absolute creative truth.
