A CANDLE UNCONSUMED

The metaphor of the Jew-or the Jewish people-as a perpetual flame or fire is one that has endured throughout our history. Enter any synagogue, for example, and above the Torah scrolls you will discover a ner tamid-an eternal light that is never to be extinguished. We, the Jewish people, are a candle unconsumed. Our light and our fire, God willing, will always shine brightly.A Candle Unconsumed, Rabbi Evan Schultz’s magnificent second collection of poetry, is a work that, according to foreword contributor Sarah Tuttle-Singer, meets you where you are and gently, insistently, lifts your face toward something extraordinary, something eternal. Experience the full transcendent beauty of Rabbi Schultz’s words as he takes you on a journey through Love, Ancestors, Sabbath, Torah, Pain, Hope, Oneness, Loss, Spirit, Identity, God, and Desire. You will discover that...Each section a meditation. Each poem a doorway. Each stanza a breath.
