June, 1934Blackhead is a disease to be shunned by every turkey grower, for it is capable of bringing great destruction to any turkey flock in short order, if preventative measures are not continually carried out.Without a knowledge of the disease, from experience or study, precautionary measures may seem somewhat like shadow boxing, but it should be remembered that prevention, and not cures, must be relied upon to save the turkey flock from black head losses.A post-mortem examination on a bird that has died of blackhead will show any grower the great damage that has been done to the liver and the blind pouches, and he will readily realize that the probabilities of restoring these organs to normal health and functioning wi_th cures are remote indeed.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
