Frank Corso, the only writer allowed to observe the proceedings of the high-profile, tight-security trial of a thug charged with sixty-three counts of murder, is in the middle of a media-circus - a real nightmare for a loner type like himself. And that's before he finds out that his close friend, photojurnalist Meg Dougherty, is in Intensive Care after a run-in with a couple of hoods.
