Lt. Joe Gunther is in Vermonts Northeast Kingdom investigating a minor embezzling case. Its a pleasant distraction, and a chance to reconnect with old friends, but when a house fire reveals itself to be arson, compounded by murder, Gunther cant help but investigate.
