EL PORT DE LA SELVA

Climate is a different concept from meteorological weather. The climate is based on retrospective data from many previous years, while the weather corresponds to a specific moment. The climate, therefore, of Port de la Selva depends not only on the temperate strip where it is located but also on other factors that make it “Mediterranean” and the physical characteristics of the place give it a “singular” aspect due to the prevailing winds. Both its physical structure -rocky terrain, with few possibilities of cultivation- and the unique aspect that the Tramuntana gives to its climate, affect the character, humor and way of being of the people who live in this town of Empordà.
