PAKISTAN
Sinopsis
Pakistan is a country full of contradictions. Although it is the fifth largest country in the world in terms of population, there is a great deal of ignorance about the country, its culture and its people. Despite the fact that the young state has only existed since 1947, the culture of the region goes back many thousands of years. It is a veritable multiethnic state that is not only home to a large number of different ethnic groups, and many different languages are spoken here, a strong national identity has emerged in these few decades. The country is so varied not only because it unites such diverse ethnic groups as the Punjabi and Pashtuns, but also because of its different climates and landscapes: from the high mountains and glaciers in the north, and the fertile valley of the Indus River in the east, to the desert areas in the south and southwest. In addition, there is an eventful past, which began already in the Bronze Age, when during the Indus culture the first cities were built, a first form of writing was invented and the land was irrigated.
