Paul Lynch és autor de cinc novel·les. La més recent, El càntic del profeta, va guanyar el Premi Booker 2023. Abans se li havien atorgat premis com el Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year i el francès Prix Libr’a Nous a millor novel·la estrangera, entre d’altres. També ha estat finalista de nombrosos premis internacionals, com el premi anglès Walter Scott, l’italià Strega Europeu, i els francesos Premi al Millor Llibre Estranger, Premi Littérature-Monde i Premi Jean Monnet de literatura europea. El 2024 va ser nomenat escriptor distingit per la Universitat de Maynooth i també escollit dins l’Aosdána, l’acadèmia de les arts irlandesa que reconeix artistes de prestigi. Les seves novel·les s’han traduït a més de trenta llengües.

Una lectura exigente. Con un estilo muy particular y directo, el autor te hace sentir toda la angustia de la protagonista de una manera brillante, aunque llega a ser algo reiterativo. Pero, en general, un libro muu interesante que invita a reflexionar sobre cierta deriva preocupante de la sociedad occidental.
