The Illustrated Voice is the first book to examine and reveal, in great detail, the thinking process behind the creation of conceptual illustrations. Craig Frazier, its author, offers a unique perspective. He has had a 20-year career as an award-winning graphic designer, followed by a 7-year career as an internationally recognized illustrator. His point-of-view is from the trenches of contemporary illustration, backed with the knowledge and experience of the world of graphic design. The Illustrated Voice displays a substantial body of finished illustrations and preliminary sketches, organized by topics relating to theory, process and type of assignment. Frazier provides the "visual thinking" behind some of his most-published work, including doodles and sketches never presented to his clients. Each illustration is accompanied by text exploring the nature of the assignment and the rationale behind his ideas and decisions.
