VALENTINO 2007

In collaboration with the Ara Pacis Museum, TASCHEN is pleased to produce the catalog for the exhibition "Valentino a Roma" (on view from July 6 - October 28, 2007). Featuring splendid studio portraits of all the dresses exhibited, the catalog is a veritable journey through the history of the Italian maestro's illustrious career. Texts in English and Italian include captions describing the dresses (indicating, where relevant, which stars wore them and on what occasions) as well as essays by the show's curators Patrick Kinmonth and Antonio Monfreda, Mayor of Rome Walter Veltroni, "Vanity Fair's" Matt Tyrnauer, and the "International Herald Tribune's" Suzy Menkes. As if there was any need to confirm Valentino's status as Italy's most prolific and talented fashion designer, this exhibition and catalog offer resounding proof.
