Mario Catelli nació en Rosario (Argentina), en 1957 y reside en Barcelona desde 1987. Tras abandonar los estudios de arquitectura, ha ejercido diversos oficios a lo largo de su vida, desde pastelero y actor en Rosario, hasta mensajero, pintor de brocha gorda, ayudante de exposiciones, figurante de spots publicitarios, percusionista, saxofonista y actor de teatro de calle, en Barcelona.

Su oficio permanente, no obstante, es la escritura. Es traductor y ha publicado ya tres libros de literatura infantil y juvenil.
