ZAGO ARCHITECTURE AND OFFICE DA: TWO INSTALLATIONS

One of the restorative pleasures of academic administrative responsibility, of positions like the one held by Eric Owen Moss as director of the Southern California Institute for Architecture (SCI-Arc), is the chance to bring in visiting experts whose work or conversation you enjoy, whether for a lecture or a term. Monica Ponce de Leon and Nader Tehrani, who work together as Office dA, and Andrew Zago of Zago Architecture, the three experimental architects whose site-specific, student-built installations at SCI-Arc are documented in this book, have all been visiting professors there recently. Through in-depth interviews on their careers and these pieces, Moss makes it clear that he appreciates both their work and their company. This first publication in the Institute's "Make It New" series also includes lectures and photographs.
