November, 1973Solomon s temple was one of the world s most beautiful buildings of the ancient world. Gold was used in its construction and in the vessels that adorned it. Yet, if there is a type of the Church of God under the levitical priesthood or under the law, we must see how it is built or con structed. The temple was built of stones that were hewn, shaped, sized, and fitted in the quarries which were found far, far, from Mount Moriah, where the temple was built. In its construction no sound of axe, hammer, or any metal tool was heard in its construction. The question is asked, How about the true church, the body of our Lord Jesus Christ? There is no sound of human works heard in its con struction. It is constructed of living stones, whom God, the Holy Ghost, finds in the quarries of nature, and they are hewn out, fashioned and brought at God s own appointed time and in His own peculiar way. They are His chosen vessels of mercy and they are made to acknowledge His Sovereign power, His immutable will, and His truth as revealed to them.
