Produced by VoteLGBT, Care and Courage: LGBTphobic Political Violence in Brazil presents unprecedented data, intersectional analyses, and testimonies about the political violence of gender and race that affects LGBT+ leaders in Brazil. While exposing the severity of the attacks, silencing, and exclusion that shape these leaders trajectories, the book also proposes ways to recognize care as a political technology and a democratic horizon. Born from innovative methodologies such as the Sentinela project and the Cuida+ initiative, the research combines big data, interviews, and digital monitoring to map the various forms of violence, from institutional environments to social media.
