Oedipus at Colonus

"Oedipus at Colonus is the final play in Sophocles Theban cycle and presents a moving conclusion to the tragic life of Oedipus. Now blind, aged, and exiled after the revelations of Oedipus Rex, he wanders with his devoted daughter Antigone until they arrive at Colonus, near Athens. There, Oedipus learns that the place of his death has been foretold to bring protection and blessing to the land that shelters him.
As news spreads of his presence, political tensions arise. Creon and his son Polynices attempt to persuade or coerce Oedipus into returning to Thebes, hoping to use the prophecy for their own advantage.
