Ari's Taverna- Philosophical Dialogue
Sinopsis
On a quiet Greek island, a seventy-year-old man runs a taverna. He serves grilled food and cold retsina. He walks his German Shepherd at odd hours. He keeps to himself.
When a young Australian couple stumbles onto his terrace, an unlikely circle forms around his table — and the conversations that follow are unexpected, funny, and quietly profound.
"You know," Sandra leaned back, suspicious, "Aristotle was Greek. Socrates was Greek. Plato was Greek. Is there a philosopher who isnt Greek, or did the rest of the world not bother thinking?"
"Confucius, for one," Eleni said.
"Confucius? That sounds Greek."
"Chinese. Five hundred years before Socrates."
"Before Socrates? Bloody hell. Who else?"
"Buddha. Averroes. Many others."
"Buddha, Ive heard of. Statues, right? And Averroes... is that pasta?"
Join Sandra, the Chelsea fan, and the others for meaningful discussions that stay with you long after the chairs are stacked.
Pull up a chair. The arguments are just beginning.
