Beverly Cleary es una escritora de libros infantiles y juveniles estadounidense, nacida el 12 de abril de 1916 en Oregón. Amante de los libros toda su vida, Cleary se graduó en la Universidad de California en Berkeley con un título en inglés y más tarde como bibliotecaria en la Universidad de Washington en Seattle.
