I thought I had settled the debt of the past by burning the hat and leaving the killer, Karan, to rot in his own digital purgatory. I carried my scars like trophies—a broken shoulder, a haunted gaze, and a camera full of nothing.

But the silence of the city is a liar.

In the quiet hours of the night, the reflections in my windows dont show the Delhi skyline; they show a hint of purple mist. The water in my glass doesnt just sit; it ripples with a silver light I recognize all too well. And then, there is the Diary.

My mother, Pinky, died sixty-nine years ago in a twisted wreck of steel and fire. Her breath left her body on a lonely mountain road before I was even old enough to remember her scent.
