Boss, Don’t Look
Sinopsis
When leaked hallway footage threatens narrator Celias career, her rule-following boss Grant steps back to protect her. With a fierce best friend and a deadline she must reclaim her voice before gossip rewrites her heart for good.
Celia built her life on one dependable thing: her voice. In the booth, shes fearless. In the hallway outside it, shes always been careful. Then a grainy clip from the studio corridor hits the internet and suddenly everyone thinks they know her. A pause becomes a "moment." A glance becomes a "secret." A career-defining audiobook deadline turns into a public guessing game she never agreed to play.
The last person Celia wants watching her unravel is her boss, Grant. Hes disciplined, rule-bound, and allergic to office drama. He also does the one unexpected thing that makes Celias chest ache with relief and confusion: he steps back professionally to protect her, puts clear boundaries in place, and helps build real safety without turning her into a spectacle. It should make him feel farther away. Instead, it makes him impossible to forget.
With Zoe camped on her couch and a calm, no-nonsense team tightening the studios defenses, Celia tries to do the only thing that still feels like hers. She records. She shows up. She refuses to let gossip decide her future. But as the lie behind the footage starts to crack, Celia faces a different kind of risk, the one that isnt online at all. Its the quiet pull between her and Grant, the way respect can turn into tenderness, and the way one careful cup of coffee in daylight can feel braver than any grand confession.
