Rusty Clay loves the river life. Hes lived on a river somewhere for his fifty-something years.

A man calling himself the Catfish King hires Rusty to find his stolen two hundred fourteen pound catfish. Rusty thinks thats a no-brainer. Just wait until a grabbler turns in a two hundred fourteen pound catfish to win the Catfish Rodeo.

Twenty miles west of Gray River, Catfish King manages to get himself murdered. Rusty deduces himself to be the last person to see him alive. Except for the murderer, of course.

Unlike his DA brother-in-law, Rusty suspects a double murder and he must discover the real killer before hes arrested and thrown in jail.
