The Paper Crown

Pardon or myth—only one can be worn.

London, 1800. The Grey Patriots—Rowan, Ros, and Eliza—stand on the edge of mercy. The Crown offers them an Act of Pardon sealed in crimson wax: sign it, and their names are cleared. Refuse it, and they remain outlaws hunted to the grave.

But when reformist Lord Bray demands justice for all political prisoners, the trio is thrust into a deadly game. A secret faction known as the Circle Remnant offers them a twisted bargain: assassinate Bray, and wear the Paper Crown. Save him, and spend the rest of their lives running.

As blackthorn blossoms—white for innocence, crimson for blood—begin appearing on scaffolds and in alleyways, the people start to rise. Now, Ros and Rowan must choose: accept a gilded cage of royal forgiveness… or vanish into the open ground, printing truth in ink and planting rebellion one petal at a time.
