This book was first published in 196. It addressed issues of fundamental importance in economic analysis. The questions it raised are if anything, more central to the concerns of economists than they were on first publication. It is reissued with the addition of two of Richardson’s subsequent papers which are of particular relevance: a new introduction by Richardson, and a preface.
