Peter Mayle (1939, Brighton, Inglaterra) es psicólogo y psicoanalista. Escritor y periodista prolífico, sus libros ¿De dónde venimos? y ¿Qué me está pasando?, destinados a padres y educadores, sobre temas como la sexualidad o la adolescencia se hicieron mundialmente famosos en la década de los ochenta. Más tarde, alcanzó la fama como novelista con sus best sellers Un año en Provenza y Vivir en Provenza, crónicas de sus aventuras como propietario de una antigua casa de campo en el sur de Francia. En la actualidad es colaborador habitual de The Sunday Times y The Financial Times, profesor de terapia artística y director del Institute of Expressive Analysis.
