Escrito por David Sloan Wilson

Sloan Wilson (1920-2003) nació en Norwalk, Connecticut, en 1920. A los 18 años viajó en goleta de Boston a La Habana. Se licenció en Harvard en 1942, y durante la segunda guerra mundial sirvió en varios buques de la marina estadounidense. Más tarde trabajó como reportero y como profesor universitario. A partir de la publicación en 1955 de El hombre del traje gris, su mayor éxito, que sería adaptada al cine con Gregory Peck como protagonista, pudo dedicarse por completo a la escritura.

Es autor de quince novelas entre las que destacan: El hombre del traje gris (1955), A summer place (1958), Georgie Winthrop (1963) y Ice Brothers (1979); y de un libro de memorias. Sus cuentos y reportajes se publicaron en revistas como The New Yorker, Harper’s y Life.
