Abyss of Dreams

Dreams of legendary adventures filled Shiobes childhood as she studied dragon myth and history with her father. Those came to fruition upon her defeat of the Flame Stones trials, which bonded her to the Flame Dragon. Now she wishes nothing more than to use her knowledge to guide Sikode to the Ice Stone and watch him fulfill his lifelong desire to become a dragon companion.

Dreams of an icy dragon and a fist-sized diamond atop a silver wand plagued Sikodes youth. They convinced him that dragons were more than myth, and that he needed to find the Ice Stone, complete the magickal trials held within, and bond to a dragon.

To fulfill their dreams, Shiobe, Sikode and climber Ceten travel to Hekaras Abyss, the home of Lajaka, the Ice Dragon of Lassa. Resting high in the Re a tari Mountains of Rakan, it is a place of deep snows and freezing winds, which makes the hunt for a secret entrance perilous.

They discover that hazardous weather is not the only danger awaiting them. The cult of bloodmages has dug its fingers into the communities that rest in the shadow of the Abyss, tainting all they touch with foul promises and fouler magick. For Sikode to realize his dream, he and Shiobe must eradicate the bloodmage influence first.

But the bloodmages and their death-drenched deity have a dream as well, and they will do anything to attain it.
