C BEFORE YOU FEEL READY-MAC

C feels demanding when a tutorial reaches compilers, pointers, or memory and assumes that you already know your way around a terminal. C Before You Feel Ready-mac gives macOS beginners a patient route into C: one small program, one visible result, and one useful concept at a time.

You begin in Terminal with Apple Command Line Tools and clang, then build twelve practical programs: calculators, games, statistics tools, a to-do list, an address book, a persistent ledger, file and text utilities, a student-management system, and a linked-list library manager. Each program can be compiled, run, inspected, and improved, so C rules appear where they become useful rather than as isolated facts to memorize.

The course covers C17 variables, conditions, loops, functions, arrays, strings, structures, pointers, dynamic memory, file I/O, multi-file compilation, modules, testing, debugging, and linked lists. Every final source file, header, and sample-data file appears in the complete-code appendix for direct comparison and reproducible practice.

This edition is designed for macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It uses Terminal, Apple Command Line Tools, clang, C17, and the standard library only. No separate compiler suite, graphical framework, or third-party library is required.

The goal is not to make you feel clever for recognizing a rule. The goal is to help you build, inspect, debug, and extend a program of your own before you feel fully ready.
