Plus One, With Benefits

Avery Shah fixes rooms for a living—timelines, vendor dramas, sudden rainstorms—everything except her love life. When a social calendar packed with weddings threatens her sanity, she drafts a Plus-One Pact with Nate Beaumont, the grumpy-competent ops lead who treats safety plans like poetry. Fake dating for optics. A shared Rulebook for boundaries. Absolutely no falling for each other.

But practice has a way of becoming performance when the chemistry is real. From Granville Island "first kiss (scheduled)" to gala crises and a viral umbrella dance, their rulebook evolves: ask, answer, adjust, affirm, aftercare. As office gossip and an old smear campaign turn their romance into content, Avery and Nate choose daylight—disclosing at work, keeping receipts, and learning that transparency isnt confession; its infrastructure.

With aunties who weaponize laddoos, coworkers who believe in boring truth, and a bell that rings for anyone who has ever rehearsed just to feel safe in public, Plus One, With Benefits is a witty, modern rom-com about boundaries that hold and promises that mean it. Practice dating turns real—no takebacks, only take-homes.
