While helping prepare the historic Lockwood Hotel for a scholarship dinner, eighteen-year-old Nora Whitmore discovers that someone changed the official list of finalists. Before she can reveal what she knows, she calls for help from inside the hotels locked music room.

When the door is forced open, Nora has vanished.

The windows are secured, the fireplace is sealed, and the heavy brass bolt could only have been fastened from inside. All that remains is Noras phone, an unfinished message, and her warning that an innocent student must not be blamed.

Under Detective Thompsons guidance, Jake, Emily, Amy, Max, Mia, and Chip follow a trail of conflicting records, missing security footage, coded music, and forgotten spaces within the old hotel. As rumors spread through their school, the Young Investigators must uncover what happened to Nora while deciding how to reveal the truth without hurting those it was meant to protect.
