The Last Message

Elena wakes up to an empty bed, a locked door, and her best friends pendant sitting on the pillow where Maya should be.

Then the messages start. Not texts. Stories — posted from Mayas own account, hours after she vanished, each one stranger than the last. A photograph of five lifelong friends that Elena has looked at a hundred times, except now there are six people in it. A face scratched out of a printed photo with a key. A name — Nadia — that no one in her friend group will say out loud.

The deeper Elena digs, the more she realizes the gaps arent in Mayas story. Theyre in her own memory. A year she cant fully account for. A recording of her own voice saying something she doesnt remember meaning. A promise she apparently made to herself, long before any of this began: if I ever start acting like none of this happened, you have to make me remember.

Someone built a trail only she could follow, timed to a deadline she didnt choose — and every answer she uncovers reveals a darker question underneath it.

By the time the countdown reaches zero, Elena will finally know what happened to Nadia.

She just wont be ready for what it costs her to remember it.
