The Wilderness

The mountain doesnt care how you got there.

It doesnt care that Daniel Mercer swerved to miss a deer, or that his SUV went through a guardrail into three days of storms, starvation, and a presence in the dark he couldnt explain. It doesnt care that hed spent his whole adult life avoiding God so completely hed never once, not really, prayed.

It only cares whether he survives the night.

The Wilderness is the story of a man with nothing left, no phone, no food, a strangers blood on his hands, and a mountain that wont let him leave until he faces the one thing he never had the courage to face on flat ground. It is survival fiction. It is a thriller. And underneath both of those things, it is the story of a man who thought silence was the same as peace, until the wilderness proved him wrong.

Something is out there with him. Something that has already claimed one mans boot in the mud, and doesnt seem finished.

Whether Daniel makes it out alive is only half the question.

The real question is what kind of man walks out, if he walks out at all.
