Every week, calls come into John Chitis office at the Albinism Foundation of Zambia. Most are pleas for protection — people with albinism in danger, families desperate for help. But one call would test everything he believed about truth, family, and what people are really willing to risk for the promise of a better life.

When a relative in the UK begs John to help bring her nephew to safety, the case seems straightforward: a young man in danger, a family reaching out, an organisation ready to respond. But as John digs deeper — sending a coordinator into the Copperbelt, speaking with the young man himself, joining a tense video call between two continents — the story starts to unravel. The danger isnt what anyone claimed. Whats real is something harder to say out loud: a family stretched thin, a young man who believes the UK is paradise, and a relative unwilling to admit the truth even to herself.

Caught between his duty to protect people with albinism and his refusal to lie for anyone — family or stranger — John has to decide what he owes a young man who sees him as the only thing standing between himself and a new life.
