A Man Called Ty is history, heroism, and adventure. The Civil War left the South devastated. Many Confederate soldiers returned home only to find their families destroyed and their land taken over by carpetbaggers. Confederate money was worthless. The soldiers could not pay taxes levied on their land, and if they resisted they were labeled renegades, outlaws, and killers.
