FUNCTION AND USE OF TRANSFORMERS IN ELECTRICAL WORK

Transformers have been repeatedly built for voltages two to three times these values and although used for experimental and theoretical investigations only, they have demonstrated their adaptability to practical service.The transformers for the generating station are used to step up or raise the generating voltage to the proper value for transmission.
